80s Birthday Girl

Sorry for the radio silence. Some technical difficulties were encountered, and there was some family stuff. I mean, sometimes life just kicks you in the shins. Ya know? Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to complete my Eight Crafty Nights Hanukkah Card series. Oh well, there’s always next near!

So, in other news, my best friend’s birthday is just around the corner. I made her this really fun card. It’s SUPER bright and colorful- all those colors that were the rage when we were kids. Colors I. Never. Ever. EVER. Use. I’m sure it’ll make her laugh.

The bear and sentiment came from the Brutus Monroe Birthday Bears set, which is just adorable. I stamped the bear with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored the bear and balloons with alcohol markers.

After cutting out the image I popped it up on some foam tape, and adhered it to the background, which I made using the Brutus Monroe Pugsley stencil and Memento London Fog ink.

I punched a small heart from some paper I colored with an alcohol marker, and adhered that to the ice cream cone.

The sentiment is stamped in VersaFine Onyx Black ink directly on the card panel, which I trimmed down to 4″ by 5.25″ inches and adhered on a grey top folding A2 notecard.

For a little extra something, I used some purple and clear bottle cap sequins, and some Stardust Stickles. I also added detail with a white gel pen.
